The Sudbury Outers Club (formerly the Expedition Club) is run by Laurentian University students, but is open to any interested participants. Activities range from afternoon bike rides or edible plant workshops to week-long winter expeditions - whatever our club members care to tackle.
HOW IT WORKS: Joining the email list is free, and you will be informed of all upcoming club trips, socials and special offers (gear discounts, etc). However there is a one-time annual fee of $5 to become a full member of the club and participate in activities or actually take advantage of discounts. This $5 fee will be waived to anyone who volunteers at least 3 hours to the club fundraising, or who leads a trip of minimum 2 hours duration for the club.
WHO LEADS THE TRIPS? The majority of trips will be led by students of Laurentian's Outdoor Adventure Leadership Program (ADVL). However, any person who can demonstrate the requisite skills to lead a proposed trip safely is more than welcome to do so (requirements vary for each trip of course).
WHAT'S COMING UP? The best way to stay informed of coming events is to join the mailing list. It has become too difficult to maintain a 'coming events' page.
WHAT'S BEEN DONE? Lots! From bike tours to abandoned prison explorations, week-long snowshoe expeditions and afternoon cooking seminars to paintball and horseback riding. You can check the Past Events page, or Photos on this site for an idea of what's in store for this year.
